Research Paper Topic

What culture would you like to research for your research project? Explain why. What is this culture's cornerstone text?
            The culture that I would like to research for my project is Puerto Rican literature. I would like to research Puerto Rican literature because, their literature consists of their memories that have been written down over the years. Although I cannot find what the cornerstone text in Puerto Rican literature is, there are many important writers/ authors. For example, Jose de Diego wrote about Puerto Rico's dream of independence.
